Introductions and Announcements

• South End Baseball: South End Youth Baseball invited us to their Spring Opening Day - Saturday May 6th. People interested in attending, or signing up their children for Youth baseball should visit the SYEYB web site.
• Jessica Orndorff came and spoke about the Boston Medical Center's South End Shop Walk. Similar to a walk-a-thon, you get people to sponsor you for the 2.5 mile walk - and by taking part int he walk you get discounts in stores along the walk route. All monies raised to benefit the Women's Health Program at BMC. For more info please see the BMC Shop Walk web site
• Cathedral Gym work is near completion. Opening reception is planned for June
• Project place work continues. Major developments will be sent out on the Eight Streets mailing list.
• Penny Savings bank work has begin. Internal work is going on now. Majow Silver Line work should start in April. The current outbound stop will be relocated to a TBD temporary location. Moving the phycal structure form the old location to the new location (near the Blackstone school) will take 6-8 weeks.
• Several garden cleanups are happing in April - please see the Calendar in the Eight Streets pages for a complete list.

A Person came to complain about problems occurring in their building. While the NA cannot help with individual problems, we remind people of the following resources.

• If you see illegal activities, call the police immediately
• Try and address the problem with your landlord or building management company. Get all problems in writing, and keep track of when you contact these parties, as well as keep note on when these problems occur
• Call the city hall main number, where they can direct your problem; whether it is heat or rodents or other city violations
• If the problems are larger or multi faceted, please contact the Mayors Office of Neighborhood Services. There is a South End Liaison who can help you through the correct departments to get your problems addressed. The rest of the meeting was free form discussion, with time spend discussing crime and neighborhood association participation.
