Eight Streets has a business meeting once a month to conduct official business, and to bring neighbors together face to face to discuss neighborhood issues.
We meet on the second Tuesday of every month. We usually do not meet in July and August, and our December meeting is usually a social event.
Meetings are usually held in the meeting room Project Place, a social service agency just outside of Eight Streets. They are on Washington street at East Berkeley. the entrance insert door to Meyers and Chang restaurant. The meeting room is on the second floor, and is accessible by both stairs and elevators.
Meetings begin with neighborhood networking from 6:30 - 7. During this time we talk socially, chat about the neighborhood and discuss the current rumors
The business portion of the meeting is from 7 - 8:30. During this time we follow a published agenda.
Agenda items covered can include
- Guest speakers
- Local business introductions
- Construction projects in the neighborhood
- Construction adjacent to the neighborhood
- Permit requests by local residents or local businesses
- Updates from local park groups
- Open discussion for any topic to be brought up.
Official agendas are posted to our email group and social media a few days before each meeting. Minutes of the meetings are posted to this web site.
